It’s called Buckingham Palace, and it’s the official home of King Charles III, the current monarch of the UK.
Buckingham Palace is one of the most famous buildings in the world. It has 775 rooms, including 19 staterooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices, and 78 bathrooms. That’s a lot of rooms! Imagine how long it would take to clean them all! The palace also has a cinema, a swimming pool, a chapel, and a post office. It even has its own medical centre and police station!

The palace is not only a home for the royal family but also a place where they receive and entertain guests from other countries. Sometimes, the King invites people to have tea with her in the palace. How cool is that? The palace also hosts many ceremonies and events throughout the year, such as the Changing of the Guard, Trooping the Colour, and Garden Parties.
One of the most exciting things about Buckingham Palace is that you can visit it! Every summer, when the King goes on holiday, the palace opens its doors to the public. You can see some of the magnificent state rooms where the King meets his guests, admire the paintings and sculptures in the Royal Collection, and watch the soldiers in their red uniforms and furry hats march outside. You can also explore the palace gardens, which are home to more than 350 types of wildflowers, 200 trees, and 30 species of birds.
