Route Description:
If you are looking for a fun and easy cycle route for families in south London, you might want to try the one between Lewisham and Sydenham. It is about 5 km long and mostly flat, with some gentle hills and scenic views. You can start from Lewisham Park and follow the Waterlink Way along the River Ravensbourne until you reach Ladywell Fields. There you can enjoy the playground, the café and the nature reserve.
Then you can continue along the Waterlink Way until you reach Catford Bridge, where you can cross the road and join the Quietway 7. This will take you through Bellingham and Lower Sydenham, passing by some interesting landmarks such as the old gas holders and the Sydenham Hill Wood.
You can end your ride at Sydenham Wells Park, where you can relax in the gardens, play some tennis or visit the water features. This cycle route is suitable for all ages and abilities, and you can do it in less than an hour. It is a great way to explore some of the green spaces and hidden gems of south London.
