Located far away from central London near the countryside, Belmont Farm is not the typical urban city farm. In addition to Hounslow farm, this is the only London farm on our list that charges an entrance fee. Here you can find typical farm animals such as cows and sheep and small furry children favourites from rabbits to rats.

Belmont Children’s farm is all about the activities, and there is quite a wide range of options being offered. You can join the young farmers club for over 6s, KangaRooKids Music, Movement, and Drama Classes for 3 months – 4-year-olds. There are regular activities included in the ticket price, such as meeting the sheep and animal feeding. In addition, you can take a 15 min ride with the tractor to look around the farm, which costs £2.50 per person.

The animals at Belmont Farm

Belmont is more than a petting zoo, although there is a firm focus on small furry animals. You can also find bigger animals such as the three Jersey cows and their calves and 150 sheep that you can see roaming around the farm. You can also meet the farm’s friendly Alpaca, which will quickly come over to eat feed out of your hand and get stroked.

Farm redevelopment

Extensive redevelopment occurs at Belmont, with many complaining that the farm is looking like a construction site. The £7 admission fee (£4/£5.50 children) can definitely seem daunting, and with the ongoing building work, I would say it all comes down to how passionate you are about animals. If you live locally and have kids that are highly excited about farm animals, I would say its probably worth a visit; otherwise, you might want to wait until the refurbishment is done.
